Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, an international supplier of printing inks for packaging applications and labels, has signed a contract to purchase family-owned Tupahue Tintas, one of the Brazilian market leaders for flexo and gravure printing inks and varnishes located in Diadema, São Paulo. With this acquisition, Siegwerk expands its presence in the Latin American region and further strengthens its ability to better serve specific local market demands.

Since its foundation in 1989, Tupahue Tintas offers new ink solutions, designed for serving the needs of packaging converters in the local market.

When it comes to packaging, flexo and gravure solvent-based are still the major printing processes used in the region. Combining Tupahue’s and our know-how and technology in these fields adds great value to our offering for the local markets.”

Tupahue Tintas’ portfolio covers flexo and gravure printing inks and varnishes suitable for a wide range of substrates like LDPE, HDPE, BOPP, PP, polyolefin, polyester, aluminum, metalized films and others.

Siegwerk’s purchase offer includes the transfer of all technical expertise and product portfolio, as well as the manufacturing equipment related to Tupahue’s headquarters in Diadema. Both companies will work closely together to ensure a smooth integration of the business without any interference for current customers of both companies.

The parties have agreed not to disclose any financial details related to the acquisition.
